Meet our Group Executive

Keith Cochrane


Keith Cochrane
Chief Executive

Keith Cochrane joined the Weir Group as finance director in July 2006 and was appointed chief executive in November 2009.

Following a number of years with Arthur Andersen, Keith joined Stagecoach Group plc in 1993. He was appointed finance director in 1996 and group chief executive in 2000. He joined Scottish Power plc in 2003, where he became director of group finance.

He is a chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

Keith is currently a non-executive director of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra Society Ltd.


Jon Stanton


Jon Stanton
Finance Director

Jon Stanton joined the Weir Group as finance director in April 2010. He was formerly a partner with Ernst & Young, having joined as a graduate trainee in its Birmingham office in 1988. He was appointed as a partner in its London office in 2001 with lead responsibility for the audit of a number of FTSE 100 multinational clients.

He is a chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.


Steve Noon


Steve Noon
Weir Oil & Gas – Divisional Managing Director

Based in Fort Worth, Texas in the USA, Steve was appointed divisional managing director of Weir Oil & Gas in March 2009. Steve joined the company in 2007 as president of Weir SPM and since 2008 has been managing director Upstream for the Oil & Gas division. An MBA, CPA, Steve has worked with several multinationals, including Schefenacker Vision Systems, James Hardie Industries and The Toro Company. Before joining Weir, he held the position of president of Schefenacker Vision Systems, North America. Steve’s career has included positions as marketing director and finance director and he has experience in acquisitions and divestments, integration, delivering growth and making significant operational change.


Dean Jenkins


Dean Jenkins
Weir Minerals – Divisional Managing Director

Appointed divisional managing director 1 August 2012. Dean, an Australian citizen, is a graduate aerospace engineer with extensive experience of engineering materials and logistics best practice, asset management, product development and business restructuring. He has previously worked for Qantas Airlines and was Chief Executive of UGL Ltd's Rail Division. Most recently he was divisional managing director, Weir Power & Industrial.


Kevin Spencer


Kevin Spencer
Weir Power & Industrial – Divisional Managing Director

Based East Kilbride, UK. Appointed divisional managing director 1 August 2012. Kevin is a graduate mechanical engineer who worked in the mining industry for 17 years, before moving into the mining supply industry. He held several senior positions with Joy Global and since joining Weir in 2005, Kevin has worked in a number of senior management roles, latterly as regional managing director, Europe, for the Minerals division.


Pauline Lafferty


Pauline Lafferty
Director of Human Resources

Pauline Lafferty joined the Group in July 2011. Before joining Pauline spent 13 years in executive search with Miles Partnership and Russell Reynolds Associates in the UK and Australia. Prior to becoming a headhunter Pauline held business planning and operational roles for 11 years with Motorola and Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) in Scotland, Australia and Hong Kong, ultimately becoming Asia Pacific Director of Supply for DEC. She is a graduate in mathematics and has a post graduate qualification in marketing.


Gavin Nicol

Director of Operations Support and Development

Gavin Nicol joined the Group Executive in July 2011 following two years as President of Weir SPM, part of the Weir Oil & Gas Division, based in Fort Worth, Texas. Gavin joined Weir in 2005 and was MD of the Weir Pumps business prior to its sale in 2007. Before joining Weir, Gavin worked for a number of multinationals including the Terex Corporation, PWC and Coats Viyella. He is a graduate of St. Andrews and Strathclyde Universities.


Keith Ruddock


Keith Ruddock
Company Secretary

Keith Ruddock is General Counsel and Company Secretary. Before joining Weir, Keith spent nearly 20 years with oil major Royal Dutch Shell PLC, latterly as General Counsel for Upstream International, Shell’s largest business unit, based in The Hague. He has extensive international commercial and legal experience, having worked in the Middle East, North America, Africa, Australasia and Europe and was a member of Shell’s Upstream International leadership team.
