All of Weir's divisions support the oil sector in many ways - upstream and downstream, onshore from the shales of North America to the aggressive oil sands of Canada, off the shores of the world's continents and subsea in some of the deepest oceans meeting the needs of leading oil names such BP Exploration and Saudi Aramco.

Upstream drilling and well completion consists of the processes utilized to drill for and enhance the capture of hydrocarbons. Weir Oil & Gas Division serviced this market segment through the Weir SPM, Weir Mesa, and Weir Oil & Gas Services brands.

Refining and petrochemical plants processing crude oil and related petroleum products into products, such as gasoline, diesel fuel, asphalt base, heating oil, kerosene, ethylene and liquefied petroleum gas are supported particularly in Europe and the Middle East by products from Weir Gabbioneta with aftermarket support and service from Weir Oil & Gas Services.

Blakeborough and MACValves are just two of Weir Power & Industrial's ranges involved offshore both topside and subsea, particularly in Asia and the North Sea. Although closely aligned to the power portfolio, Power & Industrial have a number of products engineered to petrochemical specifications. Through its highly skilled service facilities, the division also sets the pace in the repair and refurbishing of large or critical rotating and stationary equipment, both in-shop and on-site. Engineering teams look after products including pumps, fans and blowers, compressors and heat exchangers and work with customers on upgrades including specific coatings to increase or improve performance.

Weir Minerals' key focus in the oil sector is through their participation in the developing Canadian oil sands where they have worked closely with the customer to develop product specifically for this aggressive application.
