Recent acquisitions

  • Seaboard Holdings Inc

    On 23 November 2011, the Weir Group announced that acquired Seaboard Holdings Inc, based in Houston, Texas. Seeboard is an independent wellhead solutions provider focused on the growing North American unconventional oil and gas drilling and production markets.

  • HIM Tech

    On 22 June 2011, the Weir Group announced that it had agreed to acquire a 60% interest in the South Korean valves business formerly operated by HIM Tech Co Ltd. A new Korean company, Weir International, was created into which the HIM Tech valves business had been transferred. The new company is located in Ansan, near Seoul and designs and manufactures control and choke valves for severe service power generation and oil & gas applications.

  • Ynfiniti Engineering Services (YES)

    On 21 December 2010, the Weir Group announced that it had purchased a majority shareholding in wind power specialist, Ynfiniti Engineering Services SL, based in Madrid, Spain with subsidiaries in Portugal, Italy and the USA. The company provides operating and maintenance services to the growing installed base of wind turbines.

  • Chinese JV

    On 24 November 2010, the Weir Group and Shengli Oilfield Highland Petroleum Equipment Co. Ltd announced the formation of a joint venture to provide high-pressure well service pumps and related flow control equipment to the developing shale gas industry in China.

  • American Hydro

    On 18 November 2010, the Weir Group announced that it had acquired American Hydro Corporation, a manufacturer of high-efficiency turbine components for hydro-electric power generation, based in York Pennsylvania.

  • BDK

    On 2 September 2010, the Weir Group announced that it had agreed to acquire the valves business of BDK Engineering Industries Limited with completion in October 2010. BDK a family owned business based in Hubli, Karnataka, India manufactures valves for the oil & gas, petrochemical and power markets.

  • Linatex Group of Companies

    On 14 June 2010, the Weir Group was pleased to announce that it had agreed to acquire Linatex Consolidated Holdings Limited for US$200m (£138m), a global provider of wear-resistant products to the mining and sand & aggregates industries, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

  • Petroleum Certification Services

    On 5 March 2010, the Weir Group purchased the company Petroleum Certification Services Pty Limited, an Australian based specialist inspection and recertification business, for AUS$7m.

  • Standard Oilfield Services Ltd

    On 4 July 2008, the Weir Group announced that it had completed the acquisition of a 75% shareholding in Standard Oilfield Services Limited for a cash consideration of c$16million.

  • Mesa Manufacturing Inc.

    On 24 June 2008, the Weir Group announced that it had completed the acquisition of Mesa Manufacturing inc. for a cash consideration of $40million.

  • CH Warman Pump Group

    On 4 December 2007, the Weir Group was pleased to announce that it had agreed to acquire the CH Warman Pump Group, a specialist pump business primarily focused on serving the mining and minerals processing industry throughout Africa, from Research and Development Pty Limited and CH Warman Holdings Pty Limited.

    The purchase of CH Warman was completed on 18 March 2008.

  • Multiflo Australia Pty Ltd

    On 21 August 2007, it was announced that the Weir Group had signed an agreement to acquire Multiflo Australia Pty Ltd, a privately-owned specialist mine dewatering pump business, for A$22m with the full amount payable in cash at completion on 31 August 2007, subject to regulatory approvals.

  • SPM Flow Control, Inc.

    On 21 June 2007, the Weir Group was pleased to announce that it had agreed to acquire SPM Flow Control, Inc ("SPM") for US$653 million (£328 million). Anticipated revenues for calendar year 2007 were US$ 320 million (£161 million).

    The acquisition was conditional upon shareholder approval, which was sought and obtained at an Extraordinary General Meeting on 13 July 2007. Details of the proposed acquisition were set out in the Class 1 Circular.

    The purchase of SPM Flow Control, Inc. was completed on 19 July 2007.
