Marine systems
In the marine field, LGE offers a complete design, supply and
supervision service to the major shipyards throughout the world for
cargo storage and handling plants. Recognised as a world leader in
the marine industry, we have designed and supplied over 150 cargo
plants for a wide range of ship types and sizes. These range from
small fully pressurised vessels to some of the largest fully
refrigerated vessels trading today, and covering temperatures from
–104 ºC to +90 ºC.
Starting from supporting the client in pre-project concept
development and specification, we will provide ship and cargo plant
design packages along with the specialised equipment and materials.
Together with experienced supervisors this ensures that the
construction is to the required standard. We of course liase with
the shipyard and the shipowner throughout the life of the project
to achieve the optimum end result.
This support and assistance extends after the delivery of the
vessel with LGE undertaking audits of cargo plants for ship owners
to help them in prolonging the useful life of the vessel, training
of crews to improve the understanding of the systems and
troubleshooting when operational problems arise.

Onshore systems
In the onshore field, LGE undertakes, as a turnkey contractor,
all of the activities required for the design, construction,
commissioning and performance validation of a liquefied gas
terminal or any part thereof.
Operating terminals designed by LGE facilitate the handling of
products from all types of atmospheric storage tanks to pressurised
storage, and import/export by means of ship, barge, railcar or
truck. Where the terminal requires a marine loading/unloading
facility, LGE ’s knowledge and understanding of the marine field
ensures that this critical interface area between ship and shore is
designed to suit both sides. We can also include splitting and
treatment of the gas prior to storage.
LGE offers the full range of engineering solutions to the
client, from concept and FEED studies, through basic and detailed
design, to construction and completion of the project, encompassing
civil and mechanical works, electrical power systems, computerised
control systems and safety related areas such as fire fighting and
shutdown systems.
Whether for a green field site development or integration into a
working complex, LGE has the necessary skills and experience to
deliver the most cost effective solution to the client’s needs.
